
MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.
Producers transforming cooking oil into biodiesel currently take advantage of a 20p differential but that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has actually been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George stated "a number of small companies in Cornwall currently make cash from utilized cooking oil".
He added: "In order to be able to get this kind of industry going it does require just a bit of lift which can be found in the kind of tax inevitable."
Biodiesel is a mix of standard diesel, rapeseed and veggie oils.
